To avoid this issue Final Cut Pro 7 and Final Cut Pro X may be installed on the same Mac see /kb/ht4722 for details. If working between two Macs, you may need to consolidate media to an external drive and reconnect any unconnected media before exporting XML. Before exporting XML for XtoCC translation It is strongly recommended that the media files are online (no files missing warnings in your Properties panel in the Inspector) and have identical media file paths (drive names, folder structures and file names). If you need to an XML file, please zip the file and send it to with a brief description of what happened. Please use Provide Feedback under the application menu for bug reports, feature requests or support. XtoCC displays a progress bar during XML translation and, when completed, asks you to name and save the new XML file. To translate the XML, either: run XtoCC and use the open dialog to locate your exported.fcpxml file drag-and-drop the.fcpxml file onto the XtoCC application or dock icon right-click on the.fcpxml file in Finder and choose Open With > XtoCC from the contextual menu. You can view the import progress in the Background Tasks window. IMPORTANT: Media must be fully imported before exporting XML. If Final Cut Pro X and your destination app are installed on different Macs or partitions, save the.fcpxml file to the external storage device. Choose the File menu and select Export XML., and name and save the.fcpxml file. If you have Final Cut Pro X and your destination app installed on different Macs or partitions, make sure all media are on an external storage device. In Final Cut Pro X select the event(s) or project(s) you want to translate (Final Cut Pro or earlier allows you to select only a single event or project). 3 Creating XML for After Effects CC (Mac or Windows)!3 Creating XML for Final Cut Pro 6 or 7!. 3 Creating XML for Premiere Pro CC (Mac or Windows)!3 Creating XML for Audition CC (Mac or Windows)!. 2 Before exporting XML for XtoCC translation!. Don’t expect for everything to be 100% perfect out of the box in every sequence, but it gives you a huge head start and will put everything where you need it on the timeline.1 XtoCC/Project X₂7 XtoCC (also called Project X₂7) allows you to take your Final Cut Pro X event clips and/ or project(s) directly to Adobe Premiere Pro CC or CS6, Adobe Audition CC, Adobe After Effects CC, Final Cut Pro 6, Final Cut Pro 7, or other Final Cut Pro 7 XML-based workflow tools. The only quirk I’ve had to deal with is sometimes crossfades don’t port over just right…but that’s an easy fix. There have been a ton of updates recently in Xto7, and it has been working just fine. From there, I just convert it to a good ol’ fashioned FCP7 XML and import it directly for use in premiere (with the appropriate footage folder from the FCP X library). They gave me their libraries, and now all I have to do is open it up in FCP X, select the events I want, and export an XML to use in Xto7. I purchased FCP X to have it handy for times like this, but I had no way to get their work into Premiere Pro for my final edit. Some of our footage from outside is put in an offline edit by other editors using FCPX though. I’m working on a television show, primarily using Adobe’s creative cloud. Lots of recent updates, much more reliable
